Who doesn’t love a rich, moist chocolate cake? This recipe is easy to follow and perfect for any occasion—whether you’re celebrating a birthday, having friends over, or just craving something sweet!

Ingredients:

- 1 ¾ cups all-purpose flour

- 1 ½ cups granulated sugar

- ¾ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

- 1 ½ teaspoons baking powder

- 1 ½ teaspoons baking soda

- 1 teaspoon salt

- 2 large eggs

- 1 cup whole milk

- ½ cup vegetable oil

- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

- 1 cup boiling water

 For the Frosting:

- 1 cup unsalted butter (softened)

- 3 ½ cups powdered sugar

- ½ cup cocoa powder

- ½ teaspoon vanilla extract

- 4–5 tablespoons milk

Instructions:

1. Preheat the Oven:

Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour two 9-inch round cake pans, or line them with parchment paper.

2. Mix Dry Ingredients:

In a large bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

3. Add Wet Ingredients:

Add eggs, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract to the dry ingredients. Beat on medium speed for about 2 minutes until the batter is smooth.

4. Add Boiling Water:

Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin, but that’s how it should be.

5. Bake the Cake:

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.

6. Cool the Cakes:

Let the cakes cool in the pans for 10 minutes, then transfer them to wire racks to cool completely.

7. Make the Frosting:

In a large bowl, beat the butter until creamy. Add powdered sugar, cocoa powder, and vanilla extract. Gradually add the milk, one tablespoon at a time, until the frosting reaches your desired consistency.

8. Assemble and Frost:

Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread an even layer of frosting on top. Place the second cake layer on top, then frost the entire cake. Decorate as desired.

Enjoy!

This classic chocolate cake is sure to be a hit! Serve with a glass of cold milk or a scoop of vanilla ice cream for an extra treat.
